Meet the Teams
Through years 1-6 of the S4 program, a total of 36 Sustainable School Fellows have been engaged with a total of 19 Schools across 6 Phoenix metro area School Districts. They have partnered with over 96 teachers across 30 teaching discipline areas in dedicated work on sustainability science focused curriculum, campus and community engagement projects (the Three C’s).
Our program has evolved to become a reliable vehicle for Fellows to successfully vision, design, and co-develop program plans and charters with their schools and teaching teams in order to advance innovative learning processes.
Development of sustainability projects and related learning products that span the Three C’s have been at the core of our Fellows’ efforts with our metro-area partner schools and districts.

Descriptions of projects and classroom lessons by fellows and teachers across the years suggest that S4 initiatives have engaged multiple school stakeholders, including teachers from a variety of disciplines and members of community organizations. Collaborative teams consisting of these stakeholders have successfully and collaboratively implemented school wide sustainability projects that have been poised for institutionalization. Feedback from teachers and administrators gleaned from yearly evaluation processes convey a great deal of enthusiasm for the work they have been able to accomplish with our Sustainable Schools Fellows.
